Meridian, MS a.k.a. The Queen City
1.  One theory of why the nickname of Meridian is "Queen City" is because it was the second largest city next to Jackson, Mississippi's capital ("King"), at the time the nicknames were dished out.
2.  Honky Tonk Badonkadonk! The Father of Country Music, Jimmie Rodgers, was born in Meridian. 
3.  Meridian is a true comeback kid.  The city managed to recover after being mostly burned down during after the Battle of Meridian in the American Civil War and enter its "Golden Age."
